Adjunct Faculty Support: Final Report (pdf), text version (html) Provost Dr. Don Betz' response (pdf), text version (html) The CIT asked Cindy Boling and Chuck Cooper to act as facilitators for the Adjunct Faculty Integration Action Team. At the first team meeting, the team utilized a Brainstorming session to generate ideas on "How do we integrate adjunct faculty?" The participants of the action team were selected for their knowledge, interest, and experience with adjunct faculty members. They all served as full and contributing members and their expertise, suggestions, and effort are sincerely and humbly recognized. Curriculum Revision Final Report (pdf), text version (html) Provost Dr. Betz' Response (pdf), text version (html) The Continuous Improvement Team asked Drs. Chris Markwood and Catherine Dunkle to act as facilitators for the Curriculum Revision Action Team. The action team was formed to represent not only the area indicated but other areas that had a vested interest and experience in the curriculum change process. The group was presented with background information as well as several flow charts slowing the present process. They were given the team charge which was to improve the process. The group determined where the bottlenecks in the process were, discussed other problems with the process, and discussed ways of improving it. The team arrived at a consensus of ideas for improvement. The participants of the action team were selected for their knowledge and first-hand experience in working with the current process. They all served as full and contributing members and their expertise, suggestions, and effort are recognized and sincerely appreciated. Faculty and Staff Recognition: Final Report (pdf), text version (html) Provost Dr. Betz Response (pdf), text version (html) The CIT asked Dr. Mary Brodnax and Dr. Lola Davis to act as facilitators for the Faculty and Staff Reward and Recognition Action Team. The team decided to conduct focus groups with representative groups representing faculty and staff. The Action Team designed a master questionnaire to be used during the focus groups process. Training for the team was conducted on how to moderate focus groups and members were present during two training focus group sessions. After the focus group work was completed, Ms. Cindy Brown of the College of Business Administration transcribed the recorded sessions. Each team member was charged with analyzing a focus group session and content analyzing the information to determine the key concepts and ideas that were presented by the participants. All ideas were then tabulated and the team gave input into the generated list of OFIs and to share ideas. The purpose of the team was to analyze data from the survey and recommend opportunities for improvement and in addition, to recommend changes to the survey instrument itself if the action team felt changes were called for. The participants of the action team were selected by the facilitators based on their knowledge and willingness to serve. NSSE: Final Report (pdf), text version (html) Provost Dr. Betz' Response (pdf), text version (html) The CIT asked Dr. Chuck Hughes and Dr. Pat LaGrow to act as facilitators for the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) Action Team. The report is an evaluation of the root causes of results from the 2003 NSSE regarding students at UCO, and contains suggested Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) to address those root causes. The NSSE is an assessment instrument that is being used by colleges and universities across the country to determine the extent to which students (freshmen and seniors) engage in a variety of effective educational practices. The participants of the action team were selected for their knowledge and first-hand experience in working with students. They all served as full and contributing members and their expertise, suggestions and effort are sincerely and humbly recognized. The first procedure they decided to tackle was the University-wide scheduling process. The participants of the action team were selected for their knowledge and first-hand experience with the current scheduling process. They all served as full and contributing members and their expertise, suggestions and effort are sincerely and humbly recognized. Ideas on streamlining began to come up almost immediately and, over time, the Action Team generated a preliminary list of possible opportunities for improvement. After review and discussion, the team presented a final report that included five suggestions that were delivered to the CIT and to Dr. Betz for consideration.
